The Human Resource Department serves approximately 6,700 Saint Paul Public Schools employees, as well as substitute teachers, and dedicated people who wish to work on behalf of Saint Paul students. We develop an ongoing relationship with each employee beginning with the recruitment phase of employment and continuing throughout an individual's career with the district.

- Attracting and working with sites on employee placements for qualified, effective, and a diverse workforce to support the mission and action plan of the school district.
- Working with supervisors to ensure employees are meeting performance standards.
- Creating and administering compensation systems that help retain the best employees.
