Medical Insurance - Medical insurance is available to clerical and technical employees working at least twenty hours per week. There are three medical plans available through HealthPartners which include the Distinctions Plan, the Primary Clinic Choice Deductible Plan and the Health Savings Account Qualified Deductible Plan. Coverage is available for single, single plus one dependent and family. The School District and the employee share the cost of health insurance with the exception of single coverage in either of the deductible plans which is paid in full by the District.
Dental Insurance - Dental insurance through Delta Dental is available to clerical and technical employees. Single and family coverage is available.
Life Insurance - A basic life insurance policy is provided at no cost. Optional life insurance (in addition to the District-provided policy) is available at the employee's own expense.
Long Term Disability - The District pays the monthly premium for long-term disability coverage for all qualified members of the clerical and technical bargaining unit. Long-term disability coverage provides monthly income up to 60% of pre-disability pay if an employee is disabled and unable to work for more than 90 days.
Short Term Disability and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage - All benefit eligible employees have the option to purchase short-term disability coverage and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Flexible Spending Account - The flexible spending account is an optional program that offers tax-free payroll deductions for health insurance premiums as well as tax-free medical and/or dependent day care expense accounts.
Holidays - There are nine paid holidays during the school year.
Sick Leave - Clerical and technical employees accumulate sick leave based on the number of hours worked up to 15 days per year.
Vacation - Clerical and technical employees earn vacation based on the number of hours worked. In the 1st through 4th year of employment, clerical and technical employees earn up to 13.5 days of vacation.
Pension Plan - Clerical and technical employees are members of the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). Both employees and the School District contribute to the pension plan.
Tax-free Retirement Accounts - Public employees are eligible on an optional basis to invest towards retirement (other than public pension) with pre-tax dollars withheld from their paycheck. The Minnesota Deferred Compensation Plan (457) and the Tax Sheltered Annuity (403(b)) are the two accounts available. After three years of employment, employees may be eligible for a District match.
